I create beautiful storytelling driven virtual worlds
AND
I translate complex medicine and science into clear visuals
I love research and creative ideas. I'm fast at understanding biomedical researchers' passions and identifying their communication pain points. Concepting visuals for research stories that are fearless but thoughtful, innovative yet nuanced, accurate and optimized for development across multimedia ... is my design specialty.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Lung Endothelial Surface Layer is a 3D biomedical molecular animation designed to be screened at research seminars to introduce anesthesiology researchers to a molecular structure with potential to treat lung trauma patients. The structure is the glycocalyx and the absorbed plasma proteins which lines the endothelial surfaces of blood vessels.

This scale illustration depicts the BBB environment, fluorescent markers, therapeutic methods, and drugs. The BBB environment with glycocalyx, basement membrane, pericytes, and astrocyte end-foot processes are in microns while the molecules in the right inset are in nanometers. The left inset is not to scale to enable comparison between the competent and disrupted tight-junction.
Made for Dr. Evgenii Belykh for his paper “Blood-Brain Barrier, Blood-Brain Tumor Barrier, and Fluorescence-Guided Neurosurgical Oncology: Delivering Optical Labels to Brain Tumors”
